Brazil will be without Neymar for their final two World Cup qualifiers after sport’s highest court rejected an appeal to overturn his ban.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport issued a fast-track verdict on Friday ahead of Brazil's away game against Chile on October 8.

Neymar was handed a four-match suspension after a Copa America group stage game against Colombia in June.

The Barcelona star was sent off for kicking the ball at defender Pablo Armero at the end of the 1-0 defeat to their South American rivals.

He then appeared to aim a headbutt at Jeison Murillo, which sparked a scuffle between both sets of players, and then allegedly insulted the referee.

The Confederation for Brazilian Football had wanted the ban enforced only at the next Copa America.

However, CAS' ruling means Neymar will miss the game with Chile and the October 13 home qualifier against Venezuela.
