Former FIFA vice-president Eugenio Figueredo has agreed to be extradited to his home country Uruguay.

Figueredo was one of seven FIFA officials arrested on corruption charges in Zurich in May, and they have since been detained in Switzerland while extradition orders were sought.

Jeffrey Webb was the first of the accused to be extradited to the United States in July and others have followed since, although Figueredo's case is complicated by a US extradition request that is under appeal.

The Swiss Federal Office of Justice, which approved both extradition requests, could be left to decide the issue if the United States do not agree to allow Figueredo to be sent to Uruguay.

Uruguayan criminal prosecution authorities also suspect Figueredo, who was vice-president of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), of having abused his office for personal gain.
