The Baggies were outdone by a Zlatan Ibrahimovic double, who struck at the start of either half to maintain the visitors' recent unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Despite the scoreline, West Brom matched their opponents for much of the game but Pulis admitted afterwards that he was looking to add more bodies to his side to maintain their recent surge up the table.

"We've got three points out of three difficult games. We're still seventh on 23 points," he told a post-match press conference.

Then 11 minutes after the restart, the Swedish striker was there again to add a second after his shot took a deflection off Craig Dawson on the way in.

"The first one was a poor goal for us to concede. It was a two-pass move and it knocked us back, but I thought we played well then," Pulis added

"We ended up coming back into the game and finished the half pretty strongly. It was just making sure they didn't get a second goal which would knock us flat.

"Unfortunately the second goal, which is a deflection just knocked us flat. It is a three-game week, a tough week, especially for us. I am very pleased with the players, I thought they worked hard but United have some real class."
