Orlando's Kaka is highest earner in Major League Soccer

Kaka is the highest paid player in Major League Soccer for the third straight season with a weekly wage of £108,000, according to new figures.

The former Real Madrid and AC Milan playmaker has a salary of £5.6m a year with Eastern Conference leaders Orlando City, while Italy striker Sebastian Giovinco of Toronto is second on the list pocketing £5.5m.

Fellow Toronto player Michael Bradley is third with £5.1m followed by New York City pair Andrea Pirlo at £4m and former Barcelona striker David Villa, who earns £4.4m.

Ex-Sunderland striker Jozy Altidore also makes up the top 10 with a salary of £3.8m for Toronto as well as Chicago Fire's Bastian Schweinsteiger and Clint Dempsey from the Seattle Sounders.

Meanwhile, former England left-back Ashley Cole, 36, will be paid £294,283 this season by LA Galaxy, who are 10th in the Western Conference.

The highest earning Galaxy player is Mexico forward Giovani dos Santos who is paid £4.3m annually.
