Paris-Saint Germain forward Neymar has revealed he "really wants to" work under Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola.

The Brazil star has paved the way for a possible early departure from PSG by declaring his desire to link up with former Barcelona boss Guardiola.

Neymar left Barcelona to join PSG on a five-year deal last summer in a world-record £200m deal, but has since been linked with a move away from the French champions.

The 26-year-old superstar, currently in Brazil training with the national team prior to the World Cup, has done little to quash the rumours.

Although linked with a move to European champions Real Madrid, Neymar says he wants to experience working alongside Guardiola having missed the opportunity when he arrived at previous club Barcelona a year after the Spanish coach's departure.

Neymar arrived a year later and went on to spend four seasons at the Camp Nou, before completing his record-setting move to the French capital.

Although PSG secured a French domestic treble of league, Cup and League Cup last season, Neymar missed the latter third due to a foot injury and underwent surgery in Brazil.

Neymar returned to training with Brazil ahead of the World Cup and on Wednesday took part in Brazil's first fitness training in Teresopolis, outside Rio de Janeiro.
