Rangers are interested in signing Roma striker Umar Sadiq, Sky sources understand.

The club are hoping to sign the Nigerian, 21, on a season-long loan, although no deal has yet been reached.

Sadiq joined Roma in 2016 but has spent the past two seasons on loan at Bologna and Torino in Italy and NAC Breda in the Eredivisie - where he netted five times in 12 appearances last season.

He also scored four times in six games for Nigeria's U23 side as they finished third at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
