Striker set to stay at Elland Road

Leeds striker Tresor Kandol has rubbished rumours he wants to quit Elland Road. New manager Gary McAllister left the striker out in favour of new signing Anthony Elding on Saturday as Leeds lost 2-0 to Tranmere. And McAllister's snub has prompted rumours that Kandol, who has scored eight goals this season, wanted to leave Leeds. However, Kandol insists that the speculation is untrue and that he did not play because he has been suffering with an illness. "I saw the stories on Wednesday morning and they are complete rubbish," Kandol told Leeds' official website. "I've been ill, everyone knew that, and the club knew that. "The stories say I'm unhappy because we've brought in another striker. I didn't know who we had brought in because I've been ill and haven't been here. "I'm perfectly happy here with the new gaffer and the competition excites me. I don't know where this stuff has come from."
