Killie boss busy preparing for next season

Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies is hoping to complete a trio of deals as he continues to prepare his team for next season. The Killie boss is keen to secure Mehdi Taouil on a new contract while also landing Gavin Skelton and Allan Russell's services. Taouil's one-year contract expires this summer, although Jefferies has been impressed enough to consider offering the France-born Morocco international an extension. Jefferies is also keen to bring in Gretna's long-serving midfielder Skelton and Airdrie United's free-scoring striker Russell.

Chat

"I've had a chat with Mehdi's agent. The lad is keen to stay. He's had two or three offers," explained Jefferies in the Daily Record. "Skelton is someone I have had a chat with. The situation at Gretna is well known but he has caught my eye. "He has one or two other offers, but called me the other day to say he wanted another chat. "I think it's only right that we wait until we play Gretna again but without saying we're going to sign him, we are in talks. "We're due to have further talks with Russell. We're close, although we won't say anything as there is always a possibility of things going wrong."
