Striker considering options following Cheltenham release

Lloyd Owusu is to open talks with Adelaide United after being released by Cheltenham. The striker has been shown the exit at Whaddon Road due to financial constraints and he is now considering a career in Australia. Owusu was loaned to Brighton in March in an attempt to cut costs, and he duly scored seven goals in 14 matches to help the club stave off League One relegation. The Seagulls have offered Owusu a permanent contract and he has revealed his desire to play at the Withdean Stadium. But with interest also on the table from Adelaide, the 32-year-old is set to meet staff and explore the possibilities. Adelaide football director Michael Valkanis said in the Gloucestershire Echo: "We know he's got a young family and that's one of the reasons why he wants to look for himself. "He wants to weigh up which way to go and at the same time we'll weigh up our options."
