Matuzalem & Rocchi goals earn Lazio cup success

Lazio lifted the Italian Supercoppa with a 2-1 win over Serie A champions Inter Milan in a match staged in Beijing's Olympic Stadium. Inter dominated the first half but were thwarted by Lazio goalkeeper Nestor Muslera on numerous occasions. Lazio broke the deadlock on 63 minutes when Francelino Matuzalem prodded the ball home from close range. Lazio doubled their advantage three minutes later when captain Tommaso Rocchi superbly lobbed Inter keeper Julio Cesar. New Inter signing Samuel Eto'o reduced the arrears 15 minutes from time with his first goal for the club. Inter piled forward in search of an equaliser, but could not find a way past a stubborn Lazio defence as the Rome outfit clinched the pre-season silverware.
