Sunderland in talks with defender
Sunderland have offered a new contract to Nyron Nosworthy, skysports.com understands.
The 29-year-old's current deal is due to expire in the summer - but Black Cats chief Steve Bruce is keen to retain Nosworthy's services.
Since taking charge, Bruce has used Nosworthy sparingly but he has always been involved within his match-day squads.
Bruce is now hoping to convince Nosworthy that he should commit his future to the Wearside club.
There are a number of clubs monitoring Nosworthy and Sunderland are understood to have turned down offers for him before the deadline closed.
