Manchester United star to prove fitness

South Korea captain Park Ji-sung is confident he can play in two upcoming friendlies against Denmark and Serbia. The 28-year-old has missed 11 consecutive games for Manchester United due to a knee injury, prompting United boss Sir Alex Ferguson to question the player's selection in the South Korean team. However, Park insists he is fit to play despite not having fully recovered from the niggling injury. "I am in good enough shape to play in the friendlies," Park told The Korea Times. "If it is possible, I want to play in both matches." United have sent a physical trainer to be with Park for the duration of the friendlies, but the midfielder denied it was a call made by Ferguson. "The trainer will arrive tomorrow. The national team doesn't have a physical trainer, so he can help me," he explained. "This suggestion came from the physical trainer, not Alex Ferguson. But Ferguson agreed to allow the trainer to come with me." South Korea are due to face Denmark on 14th November and Serbia four days later.
