Italian issues broadside at van Gaal

Unsettled Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni is demanding a move away from the club after falling out with Louis van Gaal. Toni has failed to establish himself at Bayern this season following the arrival of Van Gaal as coach. The Italian has found himself on the sidelines for much of this season even since he recovered from injury. The 32-year-old is fed up with his situation and has virtually given the Bavarian club an ultimatum that either the Dutchman goes or he will seek a transfer. "I have had problems with him for four months now and there is a limit to everything," he told Italy's Rai television. "Our relationship is as good as over. "I wish all the good in the world to Bayern. "I would like to return to play in Italy to score the goals which would get me back into the national team. "I am still the striker who has scored the most goals (of those still active) for the national team." Toni has set his sights on a return to Italy with Roma rumoured to be interested in bringing him to the Stadio Olimpico. Asked about a move to Roma, Toni replied: "I have a good relationship with [Francesco] Totti."
