Us manager wants loanees to make switch permanent

Aidy Boothroyd admits he would love to make John-Joe O'Toole and Kayode Odejayi permanent signings. Irish midfielder O'Toole has moved to Colchester from Watford until January and he has made a big impact since joining the League One club, starting 12 league games for the Us. Former Hornets boss Boothroyd wants to sign the 21-year-old on a permanent basis, and would also like to extend the deal with Odejayi, who is on loan from Barnsley until mid-December. Odejayi has scored six times for United so far this season and his goals have propelled the team into a strong position at the top end of League One. "They've both made a difference to the team - they have made it better and stronger," he said. "They have both come from the Championship and that's where they want to go back to - and beyond. "As we get closer to that deadline, I'll be looking to do something with the two clubs to either extend their loans or to sign them permanently. "I will be working very hard to keep them here because I like them both as characters, which is important and I also like them as players."
