Ephraim makes Elland Road switch on loan

Leeds United have bolstered their numbers with the capture of QPR winger Hogan Ephraim on loan until January. The 21-year-old has scored twice in seven first-team appearances for the Rs this season, although injury has curtailed his involvement of late. The Londoner started his career at West Ham and had a loan spell at Colchester before joining QPR in 2008 after a successful loan period. QPR have not allowed Ephraim to play in Leeds' FA Cup clash against Kettering so his possible debut will have to wait against Oldham next week. Manager Simon Grayson is pleased to have the extra competition for places in his ranks with the hectic festive schedule on the horizon.

Quick and direct

"Hogan is quick and direct and can play on either side," Grayson told the club's official website. "We have a busy time coming up and Hogan gives us options and competition for places." Rs boss Jim Magilton has been without Ephraim recently due to an ankle injury and he is keen for him to regain fitness through playing for Leeds. "Hogan is still recovering from his ankle injury and an important part of his rehabilitation is getting games under his belt," he explained on QPR's official website. "Leeds will provide him with a platform to do that. "We'll keep tabs on him during the month and when he returns he should be in peak condition to stake a claim here. It's a great deal for both parties."
