Keeper hoping to sort future

Dundee United keeper Nicky Weaver is hoping to secure a move back to England next month. Weaver's short-term contract at Tannadice is due to come to an end in January. The former Manchester City and Charlton shot-stopper was signed by United after they failed to secure the early release of Slovakian keeper Dusan Pernis. But Pernis has now linked up with United and will be free to make his SPL debut from 1st January. With Pernis signed, Weaver will be free to leave and he is hoping that his stint with United will have proved that he is over the injuries which have dogged his career. "I still class myself as a decent age for a goalkeeper, I am 30 now and fully over my knee injury," he told Sky Sports News. "It is just a case of waiting and if the phone rings then great. "I wouldn't rule anything in and wouldn't rule anything out, a year ago I wouldn't have thought I would be playing in Scotland. I am fully open to all offers so it is just a matter of waiting and seeing what the future brings."
