Trembling seeking funds in order to make offer for Forest full-back

Notts County owner Peter Trembling admits he needs to secure fresh investment in order to fund a bid for Nottingham Forest full-back Brendan Moloney. The 20-year-old has enjoyed the first half of the season on loan at Meadow Lane, but is due to return to Forest after the weekend. Trembling wants Moloney to stay with the Magpies into the New Year, but feels that may only happen if the club can sign the defender on a permanent basis. Talks have taken place regarding investment coming into the club and Trembling hopes to raise enough cash to make an offer for Moloney. "All Forest have said is that when his loan period is up they will be taking him back," Trembling told the Nottingham Evening Post. "It's up to us to give them a reason for him to come back here, whether that's by loaning him for a longer period or making an offer to buy him. "Ideally we would make an offer to buy him, but that is dependent on getting investment in. "We are trying to get investment into the club and hopefully later this week we will have a better indication of where we are at."
