Experienced forward will play if selected

Roma striker Francesco Totti has revealed he will return from international retirement if called upon. The 33-year-old quit the Azzurri after they won the World Cup in 2006 and speculation has mounted that he could make a return for the 2010 competition in South Africa. Totti, who has already won 58 caps for his country, says he will play for Marcello Lippi's side if he is fit and selected. "I will decide in April," he told Italian newspaper La Repubblicca. "If Marcello Lippi calls me up, if I am fit and if the group wants me, I will go." Lippi has long been a fan of the Roma forward but has never said he will be guaranteed of a place back in the squad. Totti is currently Serie A's record active goalscorer, although persistent injuries over recent seasons have hampered his progress.
