Winger feels club should offer team-mate new one-year deal

Arjen Robben has urged Bayern Munich to offer team-mate Mark Van Bommel a new contract. The midfielder's deal expires in the summer and as of yet talks over a new contract have yet to materialise, despite the former Barcelona man regaining his place in the first-team under manager Louis Van Gaal this season. Van Bommel endured a similar situation towards the end of last season but eventually an agreement was reached to offer the 32-year-old a new 12-month contract. The Dutchman has featured 14 times in all competitions for Bayern this term and Robben feels his fellow countryman is vital to the team. "I feel this to be vital for me and the whole team, I hope the club ends with the right decision in this case and keep Mark, a player of this club, for at least one more season," he Bild. Meanwhile Van Bommel admitted that he would like to stay at the Allianz Arena but highlighted that he was unsure as to what his future held. "It is very simple how I feel," he declared. "If they are going to offer me a new deal I will consider that offer no doubt. "If they do not come up with anything I have to look to find a new club then. Things are like that."
