Rangers midfielder Steven Davis admits Kris Boyd may be tempted by a move to the Premier League.
Gers striker Boyd has been strongly linked with a move to England in recent days, with Birmingham manager Alex McLeish confirming his interest in his former player.
Davis, who has played in the English top flight for Aston Villa and Fulham, says the 26-year-old forward will find it difficult to turn a move down, but hopes he does just that.
"I can understand the attraction, of course. For me, it's the best league in the world," he said.
"You are coming up against top-quality opposition every week and playing in great stadiums - it's just a great place to play football to be honest.
"But, at the same time, from our point of view, we want Boydy to stay here.
"He's a big player for us in terms of the goals he gets for the team. If he does decide to leave, he would be a massive miss.
"His goalscoring record speaks for itself and there aren't many around who put the ball in the back of the net like Boydy.
"He would be a great signing for anybody but I hope he stays here as he would be a big loss if he did leave."
Record
Boyd has netted 19 goals so far this season and has recently overtaken Celtic legend Henrik Larsson in the SPL's all-time goalscoring chart.
Davis thinks his current team-mate is one of the best finishers around, and concedes it would be a 'major blow' if he departed.
"We can't take his goals for granted - he guarantees you at least 20 goals a season and that's a massive thing," he added. "There is no-one better that I've seen at putting the ball in the back of the net.
"It would definitely be a major blow.
"The squad is quite thin as it is and the manager hasn't had the funds to bring in any players for a long period of time now. I'm sure he would have liked to but hasn't had the chance.
"We can't afford to have any other players leave. But, if that's the position the club finds itself in, it will just have to be business as usual."
