Australian believes playmaker will improve Rovers

Vince Grella believes Turkish midfielder Yildiray Basturk could be a star for Blackburn Rovers. The German-born playmaker is yet to make his Premier League debut as he was carrying a thigh injury when he joined. Basturk and Grella could be available for manager Sam Allardyce after impressing in Rovers' reserves win at Wigan on Tuesday. Grella is fully aware of the 31-year-old's ability and believes he will give Rovers a new dimension between now and the summer.

Experience

"He's doing well," explained Grella to the Lancashire Telegraph. "Basturk is a senior pro who has got international experience and has played in the Bundesliga for 10 years. "He's been one of the main players in Turkey's team for the past 10 years, so I don't have to present Basturk to anyone. "But I enjoy playing with him. He's got great vision, great awareness and great passing.
Different
"I think he could give us something new and something different in our formation. "Can he be a star player for us? You took the words out of my mouth. "I think he's got everything to be a star player at Blackburn. "He's something different that we don't have and I think the manager knows that. That's why he signed him."
