West Bromwich Albion have signed Wigan Athletic midfielder Ben Watson on loan for the remainder of the season.
Watson has struggled to get a look-in at Wigan since Roberto Martinez took over as manager and has only featured in cup competitions for the club this season.
He undertook a loan spell at Queens Park Rangers earlier in the campaign, scoring twice in 16 appearances in addition to being sent off twice.
The former Crystal Palace youngster has now secured a move to The Hawthorns and Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo is happy to bring in the 24-year-old.
"Having lost Gonzalo Jara for the remainder of the season to injury, we have been looking to strengthen the central midfield area and we are very pleased that Ben has joined us," Di Matteo told the club's official website.
"Ben is very good technically and is a competitive player who knows the Championship very well.
"He has played many times at this level and knows what is required, which should help him to hit the ground running."
Watson will not be eligible for West Brom's FA Cup fifth-round replay against Reading on Wednesday, but is in contention for Saturday's Championship game against Derby County.
Prior to bringing in Watson, Di Matteo had expressed an interest in signing his Wigan team-mate Jason Koumas, who is also out of favour at the DW Stadium.
