Redknapp insists midfielder has White Hart Lane future

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp insists midfielder Jamie O'Hara is still part of his plans at White Hart Lane. O'Hara is currently on loan at troubled Premier League strugglers Portsmouth after initially being allowed to move to Fratton Park at the end of the summer transfer window. He returned to Pompey in January and did not feature for Spurs while he waited to seal a move back to Avram Grant's side for the remainder of the season. The 23-year-old also recently expressed his concerns that he may have to consider a permanent exit from Spurs in the summer in order to secure regular football. However, Redknapp believes O'Hara is benefiting from his loan spell on the South Coast and has suggested he has a long-term future with Tottenham.

Lot to offer

"Yes, I really like Jamie," Redknapp told Hotspur magazine when asked if O'Hara is part of his plans. "He's doing great at Portsmouth and has a lot to offer, a really good footballer. He's got plenty of games under his belt and is a smashing lad as well." Redknapp also revealed he now faces a dilemma at left-back after Gareth Bale impressed during the absence of Benoit Assou-Ekotto, who is now fit again after injury. He added: "Yes, it's a massive dilemma, two great left-backs, but what a smashing dilemma to have! "Gareth has done brilliantly, but Benoit is also a top, top player. We're very lucky in that position. "Gareth is great coming on to the ball from left-back and it's a different position, wide left. It's a possibility, but we've Luka Modric and Niko Kranjcar in that position." To order the latest edition of Hotspur magazine, click here.
