Oldham boss admits striker is to leave Boundary Park

Keigan Parker is to leave Oldham in the summer after Dave Penney admitted his loan move to Bury is an opportunity to win a deal at another club. The former Blackpool favourite switched to Boundary Park in the summer after leaving Huddersfield Town but has endured a miserable campaign in the North West. Parker has struggled to find anything like his top form and just two goals all season has led to his move to neighbours Bury. Latics boss Penney was happy to sanction his departure after conceding there will be no fresh terms on offer once his contract expires in the summer. "Keigan needs to play. He is out of contract in the summer and needs to be playing to put himself in the shop window," he told the club's official website. "It is nice for him to go out and get some games for Bury and hopefully for Keigan and for Bury he will score some goals." Parker fell further down the striking pecking order at Oldham after Penney brought in Lewis Guy and Daniel Nardiello on loan from Doncaster and Blackpool respectively. Nardiello has since picked up a hamstring injury and is back at Bloomfield Road receiving treatment.
