Stoke manager Tony Pulis believes Ricardo Fuller's lack of goals this season is because the striker has become more of a team player.
Fuller stepped off the bench last weekend and scored to secure a 1-0 win at West Ham with what was only his second Premier League goal of the season.
Pulis acknowledges that the forward is doing more work for the team, but would also like to see an increase in goals before the end of the campaign.
The Stoke boss said ahead of Saturday's home match against Hull City: "Ric had a little bit of food poisoning before the game but you know when the game opens up he can kill teams.
Disappointment
"He does the type of things the only top players can do. The biggest complement you can pay him is that he can beat people and can create things by himself.
"He doesn't need any help. He is a very exciting player and a very committed player. It is the way he likes to play.
"To be honest you just do not know what you are going to get from Ric from day to day. He is that type of player.
"The disappointment is he has only two league goals, seven altogether if you include the cups, when he's had a better season.
"He has become more of a team player. I know in the last seven games he will be looking to improve that tally."
