Danish teenager never thought about leaving

Ajax's highly-rated midfielder Christian Eriksen has signed a new contract to stay with the Dutch title chasers until 2014. The 18-year-old only made his senior debut for Ajax in January and subsequently earned his first cap for the Denmark team in March. His performances since breaking into the Ajax side have drawn admiring glances from across the continent, with Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United all linked with bids. However, Eriksen insists that he has never considered quitting Ajax and had no qualms in agreeing to a new contract at the Amsterdam Arena. "Despite the rumours, I have never thought about a transfer," Eriksen, who had 12 months left on his previous deal, told the club's official website. "I want to stay at Ajax." To date, Eriksen has made 14 appearances in the Eredivisie for Ajax and has also featured twice in the Europa League and Dutch Cup.
