Bayern forward wants German outfit to swoop for United star

Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic has told his club to launch a summer raid for Nemanja Vidic. The Manchester United defender was linked with a move away from Old Trafford earlier in the season after a reported fall-out with manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Croatia international Olic is a close friend of the tough Serbian after they both had spells playing in Moscow. The pair met in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals this term and Olic is hoping Bayern can strike a deal for the 28-year-old. "When I heard Bayern were aware of him as a player I told him to join our club and get to know a different sort of league," he told Sport Bild. "He is definitely under contract at one of the best clubs in the world and he is absolutely one of the best defenders in England. "But if he is really eyeing a transfer, Bayern should be a serious contender. "I am always telling him - down here in Munich life is beautiful for you and your family."
