Steven Mouyokolo plans to spend time at home with his family and friends before making a decision about the future.
The defender signed a four-year deal with Hull City last summer and emerged as a key player after a slow start to the season.
But reports have suggested that he could be one of several players to leave the KC Stadium after the club dropped down to the Championship.
Mouyokolo insists he will not allow the pain of relegation to cloud his judgement and he will only consider his options after enjoying a period of rest back in France.
"I am still disappointed with relegation and all I am thinking about is spending time with my family," he told the
Hull Daily Mail.
"This is the first time I have stayed away from my country and all that I want is to rest with my family and friends back in France.
"Life is life and this is disappointing. But you can't choose what happens to you.
"Let's wait and see what happens, if you stay or if you go, but my mind is not thinking about this now."

Mouyokolo maintains that he loved his first year in England and was especially pleased with the reception he received from supporters.
"It has been amazing. When all the crowd is chanting your name, it has made me cry at times," he added.
"I would like to say a big thank you to all the fans for the support they have given me all season.
"It hasn't been easy to be out of the team for five months but they helped me through it and all that I wanted to do when I got on the pitch was to give my best back to them.
"When I hear the fans sing my song I just smile and it gives me more power. When I hear it I know I cannot disappoint them.
"I wish my family could be in the stadium to hear it, it's amazing. I have been very emotional.
"I play with passion so when I lose I am like a kid who has lost on a video game. But the support has been very special."
