Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is confident Spanish striker Adrian Colunga would prosper in the Premier League.
Colunga has impressed since being loaned to Real Zaragoza from second-division Recreativo Huelva in January and reports have linked the 25-year-old with a move to the DW Stadium.
Martinez watched Colunga score in Zaragoza's 3-3 draw with Villarreal on the final weekend of the La Liga season.
That took his tally to seven goals from seven starts for Zaragoza, while he made a further nine appearances from the bench, and he scored nine goals in 25 starts for Recreativo on their way to being relegated from La Liga last season.
But Martinez has not just been impressed by Colunga's finishing qualities - he feels he also has the pace and creativity to make it in England.
"Colunga is a good player who has done very well this season," said the Latics' manager.
"He has been a good player for Real Zaragoza, but not only for his speed.
"Colunga is also intelligent. He is a player who always creates problems and is very smart both with and without the ball.
"The way he has adapted to Zaragoza demonstrates the great player he is. And he wouldn't have trouble adapting to the way we play in England."
