Ian Holloway is set to receive a substantial reward for his achievements with Blackpool after getting them into the top flight for the first time in 40 years.
The Seasiders boss was initially promised a six-figure pay out at the start of the season if he was able to keep his side, who were among the favourites for relegation, in the Championship when he took over last summer.
However the magnificent achievement of getting his team into the Premier League after their 3-2 play-off win over Cardiff at Wembley on Saturday has assured Holloway will receive a seven-figure bonus as well as an improved contract.
It has been a tumultuous year for a manager who was effectively in the football wilderness before chairman Karl Oyston decided to hire the 47-year-old on a one-year deal.
"I'm on a 12-month deal I sorted with the chairman," said Holloway.
Initial six months
"My initial contract was six months. I told him, we'll rip it up if I don't like you and you don't like me.
"And he told me, 'We'll have an extra year on top if you do well and I want to keep you'.
"I was happy to deal with that. I've got 12 months left because he's probably taken up the option of an extra year."
Holloway appears to enjoy a healthy relationship with Oyston, and is keen to continue it further, stating that there was a clause in his contract that would come into effect if they somehow managed to reach the top division.
"He told me some things he wanted to do and how he was going to do it. I told him what I felt we need to do and we compromised," he added.
"But there was a little clause written in that we would if I got us to the 'Promised Land'.
"So I'm sure he'll be as good as his word and we'll have a chat."
