Real warned off De Rossi

Roma have moved quickly to dismiss reports linking Daniele De Rossi with a possible move to Real Madrid.

No decision as yet on Maicon's future at Inter

Roma have responded to reports linking Daniele De Rossi with Real Madrid by insisting the player is not for sale. It has been speculated that the Italy international could be a target for Jose Mourinho, who is expected to be unveiled as the new boss at Santiago Bernabeu any day. It is claimed the Portuguese coach regards De Rossi as his top midfield target, with it apparent that Real need to tighten up if they are to overhaul domestic rivals Barcelona. Roma, though, are understandably reluctant to part with the highly-rated 26-year-old and have made it clear that they will fend off any approach for their player. "De Rossi is a Roma player, full stop," Roma chairwoman Rosella Sensi told calciomercato.com. "It offends me that I am again being asked about De Rossi. I have already answered that question several times, so stop asking." Another of the many names to have been linked with a possible move to Real should Mourinho take the reins in the Spanish capital is Inter Milan full-back Maicon.

Future

The Brazilian has enjoyed working with Mourinho during his time in Italy, but his agent insists there is no guarantee he will follow his former mentor to Spain. "His future will be decided by (Inter president) Massimo Moratti," Antonio Caliendo told tuttomercatoweb. "Maicon is still in the plans of Inter and he could stay. That's all I can say. "Winning the Champions League is very recent and Inter have not yet assessed the situation. "Maicon had a good relationship with Mourinho, but he also enjoyed his time with (Roberto) Mancini, who is now at Manchester City." While Inter are keen to retain the services of their key men, Caliendo has revealed that the Serie A champions are close to agreeing a deal for another Brazilian right-back, Matias Aguirregaray of Penarol. "He will probably go to Inter," he said.
