Manuel Neuer believes Germany would be 'crazy' to allow manager Joachim Low to leave after the World Cup.
Low's contract has expired and he has been involved in a stand-off with the German Football Federation (DFB), meaning his last match could be Saturday's third-place play-off against Uruguay.
But he has overseen a revolution in the national team, earning praise for fielding a youthful team and favouring an attacking style of play before the semi-final defeat to Spain.
Germany also narrowly lost out to the Spanish in the final of Euro 2008 and Schalke goalkeeper Neuer thinks that there are plenty of reasons why Low must remain in charge.
"He has to stay," Neuer said in the Daily Express.
"He knows every player and it would be crazy to lose him. We wanted to go all the way to the final for him, but Spain were the better team.
"Overall, though, it has been a good World Cup for us."
