Francis Jeffers aims to secure a deal with Blackpool and says he can score goals in the Premier League.

Striker confident he can still score goals in the Premier League

Francis Jeffers is hoping to secure a deal with Blackpool and insists he is still capable of scoring goals in the Premier League. The striker is currently training with the Seasiders after being released by Sheffield Wednesday and played in Tuesday's friendly against Accrington. Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is keen to give the England cap time to prove himself and Jeffers retains faith in his ability. Though the 29-year-old has scored just 25 goals since leaving Everton for Arsenal in 2001, he is confident he can make an impact in the top flight. "I still believe I can score goals in the Premier League," said Jeffers in the Daily Star. "I did it as a young lad and you have to have faith in your own ability. You never lose that knack of being in the right place at the right time. "When Ian called to invite me for a trial, I jumped at the chance. "Blackpool are a great club and have come a long way. I'd love to help them stay up."
