Trotters boss predicts bright future for striking starlet

Owen Coyle is confident Danny Ward will be a future star for Bolton, but admits he may send him out on loan. The young forward is forging quite a reputation around the Reebok Stadium, with big things expected of him sooner rather than later. An impressive loan spell at Swindon last season gave an indication of what he is capable of and has got everyone connected with the Trotters excited. Coyle is certainly happy to sing the teenager's praises, as he believes he has got a real talent on his hands. However, at just 18 years of age, he fears it may be too soon to throw Ward into Premier League action and has hinted that another short-term deal away from Bolton could be on the cards. "I've had half the Championship on about him already this summer and that's if, and that's a big if, I decide to send him out again," Coyle told the Bolton News. "I'm going to sit down with him and have a chat in the next couple of weeks but whatever we decide, I'm sure he's going to have a bright future at Bolton Wanderers."

Challenge

Should Ward remain at the Reebok, he would face stiff competition for a starting berth from Kevin Davies, Johan Elmander and new arrival Ivan Klasnic. "I have had Danny with me all pre-season and he's done very well, there's no doubt he'll have a bright future at this football club," Coyle added. "I have to judge now whether he's ready to be involved on a week to week basis in the squad. "If he's not, then we'd send him out for a few months so that he's in a better position to challenge when he comes back. "That's not inevitable. I really like him and I see something in him."
