Italy forward turns down move to Juventus

Udinese captain Antonio Di Natale is set to stay at the club after snubbing a move to Serie A giants Juventus. The 32-year-old striker has been strongly linked with a switch to the Old Lady where he would become their eighth signing of the summer. However, after six years with mid-table Udinese, Di Natale will stay loyal to his current team-mates and has turned down a move to Luigi Del Neri's Juve. A statement on Udinese's official website said: "The player... has confirmed his wish to stay in Udine. "Udinese are very satisfied by the decision taken by our captain and consider the issue closed."

Stay

Di Natale added to Sky Italia: "I'm absolutely calm. On Saturday there is the game with Genoa and we hope to do good things. "I want to stay here." With the Italian season set to get under way this weekend, Di Natale's decision to stay with Udinese could cause problems for Juventus in attack. Manager Del Neri currently is considering selling experienced forward David Trezeguet, but if the Frenchman does leave, then the Turin outfit will only have Alessandro Del Piero, Amauri and Vincenzo Iaquinta as recognised strikers.
