Sheffield United remain locked in talks with a Malaysian businessman over new investment in the club.
The Blades announced in August that they had been approached during a football convention in the Far East by a third party interested in pumping "significant" sums into the Championship outfit.
And although the club's chief executive, Trevor Birch, confirmed talks have continued, he warned nothing would be finalised in the immediate future.
"The talks are ongoing, but nothing is imminent," he told the
Sheffield Star.
No deadline
"When we previously spoke of a time-frame, it was never set in stone. It wasn't a cut-off point.
"These things are never as strict as that. That would be the wrong thing to do. We are continuing to talk and we will see what happens."
Meanwhile, striker Daniel Bogdanovic is convinced United will soon start to climb the Championship table.
The Blades currently lie 19th, with Gary Speed having led the side to three wins, a draw and five defeats since Kevin Blackwell's departure just three games into the new season.
But Bogdanovic, who signed on a two-year deal from Barnsley this summer, has urged everyone at Bramall Lane to keep the faith.
"We must believe and I'm sure we do, from the gaffer to the kitman," he said.
"We know our luck is bound to change and we'll come out of this run a stronger team.

"We need to roll our sleeves up and remain positive. This break will give everyone a chance to get fully fit and we'll be raring to go against Burnley."
The Clarets visit Bramall Lane on Saturday as the Championship resumes following the international break and Bogdanovic, 30, is hoping to keep his place after starting the last two games.
"I'm enjoying my time here to a certain point but I would be happy not playing if the team were winning," he added.
"The thing that matters is the points for the team, so we must start winning."
The Blades are without a win in three and have scored just once in the process.
