Wolves squad will fight for survival in the Premier League

Defender Richard Stearman insists that nobody has mentioned the dreaded R-word in the Wolves dressing room. Mick McCarthy's club stayed in the bottom three of the Premier League after losing 3-2 to Bolton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday. Wolves battled back from three goals down to rescue some pride with two consolations, but critics are already beginning to question their survival chances after an eighth defeat in 10 league games. But Stearman, who scored an own goal to gift Bolton the lead after just 46 seconds, is adamant that a fear of relegation has yet to surface. He said: "The table doesn't look good for us, but it's not a fair reflection on how we've been playing. "We are definitely playing better football than we did last season. We all think it's just a matter of time given the way we are playing before our performances bring the points the team deserves. "Nobody has mentioned the word relegation in our dressing room - the spirit in this squad is huge, and we will fight our corner. We almost salvaged something from 3-0 down and we are not going to let our heads drop. "We've proved before how well we can bounce back. Look at the Manchester City game. We went one down but we fought for our lives and picked up the win."
