Sevilla striker committed to the club for the time being

Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano has admitted he is uncertain over his long-term future, but is committed to the club. The Andalucian club are in mid-table in the Primera Division after a prolonged spell amongst the top teams in the league in previous years. Brazilian international Fabiano has been a huge success at the club since joining in 2005, scoring 65 goals in 137 appearances and winning the Uefa Cup twice in 2006 and 2007. He also became Brazil's main striker and was a key figure in their World Cup campaign this summer, receiving envious glances from some of Europe's top clubs, which reportedly included Manchester United at one stage. There was speculation over his future following the tournament; however the former Porto forward appeared to put the rumours to bed by agreeing a new deal until 2013. However the 30-year-old, who is currently on the sidelines with a leg injury, emphasised on his Twitter page that despite being unsure of his situation, he wanted to help the club back towards the top.

Questions

"I received many questions about my situation and I need to clear the rumours about my possible exit," he said. "Now I am working with more intensity for total recuperation from the injury blow and to return to the field. "With effort and work we can return to be a big club but we need the help of the fans."
