West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt is confident that his club will strengthen in January to allow them to stay in the Premier League.
The Baggies currently sit pretty in 11th place, but face arguably their most important game of the season as they take on Wolves in the Black Country derby on Sunday at The Hawthorns.
Absentees have been a severe problem for Roberto Di Matteo's side, with several key figures out injured and others suffering from fatigue and serving suspensions.
Di Matteo is reportedly keen to bolster his options by bringing in a defender and a striker, something Brunt believes will serve them well for what is sure to be a tough end to the campaign.
"I'm not sure what money we'll spend but I'm sure there will be ins and outs in January," he told the
Birmingham Mail. "That's January for everyone I think.
Capable
"The squad we've got at the moment has shown we're capable of competing in the Premier League.
"Injuries and suspensions are going to play their part as the season goes on.
"I'm sure the gaffer would like to freshen things up in January like we did last season. A couple of fresh faces kicked us on again last January."
Brunt has become a regular for Albion since they were relegated to the Championship two seasons ago, becoming one of their most important players.
The Northern Ireland international was quick to pay his dues to Di Matteo for assisting his development, allowing him to feel far more at home in the top flight.
"Last time we were here I didn't play too regularly in the first half of the season," he added.
"It was only towards the back end of the season when I started to play, I felt I was playing some of my better football.
"This season starting every game has benefited me. I think I've been playing some of my better football because of a run in the team.
"If I can do my part to keep West Brom in the Premier League this season maybe I can consider myself an established Premier League player."
