Chase on for Foxes striker ahead of transfer window

Skysports.com understands Hull City have made an offer to sign Matty Fryatt from Championship rivals Leicester City. Fryatt has struggled for regular football at Leicester under Sven Goran Eriksson and has started only five league games this season. He was linked with a move away from the Walkers Stadium prior to the loan deadline last month and could now leave the Foxes when the transfer window reopens. Hull are understood to have been chasing the 24-year-old for several weeks and Fryatt played under Tigers boss Nigel Pearson at Leicester. Pearson is anxious to improve his attacking options in the New Year and will hold talks with Peterborough's Aaron Mclean after also seeing a bid for Charlie Austin rejected by Swindon Town. However, the Tigers are likely to face competition to capture Fryatt, with Nottingham Forest and Reading thought to have made their interest known to Leicester. Forest were reportedly keen on signing Fryatt last month and could try again for the former Walsall frontman next month.
