Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood is staying optimistic about the prospects of keeping Derek Riordan at Easter Road.
Riordan's current contract expires at the end of the season and the forward has been linked with a January move away from the club.
Skysports.com revealed earlier in the week that Turkish side Eskisehirspor are considering a £250,000 bid to sign Riordan when the transfer window opens.
Calderwood has confirmed talks have taken place regarding a new deal for the 27-year-old and remains hopeful Riordan will stay with Hibs.
"Derek is 100 per cent a Hibs fan and initial talks have gone well, but we'll have to wait and see what happens in January," said Calderwood.
Riordan is currently enjoying his second spell with Hibs, having returned to the club in 2008 after a two-year spell at Celtic.
