Pulis waiting to speak to Rodgers about deal for midfielder

Tony Pulis has confirmed Swansea City have shown an interest in signing Stoke City midfielder Tom Soares. The 24-year-old is out of the first-team picture at the Britannia Stadium and has not made a Premier League appearance for the club in over two years. He spent a large part of last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and last pulled on a Potters shirt in the Carling Cup in October 2009. The former Crystal Palace man could be allowed to move on during the January transfer window and Pulis revealed Swansea are keen to do a deal. Pulis has yet to speak to his Swans counterpart Brendan Rodgers and is waiting for talks before making a decision on Soares' future. "Brendan did leave me a message and I have left him one back, so we still haven't spoken," said Pulis in The Sentinel. "Like all players, if there was ever a deal to be done it would be between me and the clubs. That's the way it should be."
