Planes denies knowledge of Premier League interest

Espanyol's sporting director Ramon Planes has denied knowledge of English interest in Victor Ruiz, but admitted he had received bids for Pablo Daniel Osvaldo. Big-spending Manchester City are reported to be keeping tabs on central defender Ruiz and he is also supposedly on the radar of Tottenham. Long-term injuries to key defenders at Tottenham such as Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate have left them in need of cover in that position. Planes, however, has stated he is unaware of any interest from the Premier League duo in the 21-year-old. "I don't know about Manchester City's or Tottenham's interest in Victor Ruiz," he told calciomercato.it. "I know the guy is very popular in Italy and Germany, he's a player who we like very much and would like to keep him until the end of the season. "However, if a sizeable offer was made for the player, we know that we would have to evaluate it." Meanwhile, Planes did confirm that there has been interest in forward Osvaldo from two Premier League clubs. He added: "I've received two bids for him from Fulham and Blackburn but for us, he's a player not for sale."
