Full-back looking to move on after struggling to settle

Norwich boss Paul Lambert admits Steven Smith could soon be on his way out of the club. The 25-year-old only joined the Canaries last summer, following his release by Rangers. He has, however, struggled to settle in Norfolk and is keen to move on. A hip injury suffered in November has hardly helped his cause at Carrow Road, with full match fitness yet to be recovered.

Loan

Smith has struggled to hold down a regular role, though, even when he is clear of niggling knocks, with just seven appearances made this term. Lambert accepts the full-back may be better served making a fresh start elsewhere and will not stand in his way if a suitable offer is received during the winter window. "The situation with Steven is he's still getting over his injury and doing really fine," the Scottish coach told the club's official website. "But he's finding it hard to settle here so I may have to look to move him on or send him out on loan."
