Branislav Ivanovic is hoping to pen a new deal at Chelsea, with talks regarding a new contract ongoing.
Such discussions have now dragged on for some time, with the Serbian defender yet to commit his future to the Blues.
That has led to mounting speculation that he could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge in the near future, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan are said to be monitoring the situation closely, ready to pounce should the 26-year-old become a free agent.
Ivanovic insists he has no desire to leave Chelsea, though, and is confident an agreement to keep him in England can be reached.
"I want to stay here. I hope it will be sorted out soon," he said.
"I don't like to speak publicly about it but I hope I will stay at Chelsea.
"We are talking about my new contract and I want to stay but we will see in the next couple of weeks. I don't want to say anything wrong. Things are going the right way."

Ivanovic spoke out on his future after helping Chelsea to a 2-0 victory over Blackburn on Saturday.
Three points against Rovers helped the Blues to keep their fading title dreams alive and Ivanovic insists the troubles which have afflicted Carlo Ancelotti's side of late are now a thing of the past.
He said: "We have changed our character. Everyone has been a little bit angry about the things that have happened and we want to show our real power. This is going to count in the games coming up.
"The players are starting to get angry. We have worked hard in training this week to find a high level of intensity, to improve our communication and spirit.
"This is important. Together it makes our confidence better. We are very happy we haven't conceded goals and we have to fight for that in the next games.
"If we want to win the title, we have to go game by game. We can't put pressure on ourselves by saying we have to win. Of course, we are not in a good position to win the league but we will try to win it.
"We will go step by step, prepare well for every game and fight for every ball, every result. This is what we will do.
"But now we have our focus back. We are training hard, enjoying our sessions. We are going to get better in the future. We have to try to win every game and wait for other teams to lose points and get back to doing things our way. If we do this, I think, it's possible."
