Calderwood looking forward to working with midfielder again

Hibernian have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Matt Thornhill on a free transfer from Nottingham Forest. Thornhill has made just one appearance for Forest this season when scoring in the Carling Cup defeat by Bradford City back in August. He has now accepted a two-and-a-half-year contract to join Hibs and will finalise his move to Easter Road providing he passes a medical over the weekend. The 22-year-old will be reunited with Colin Calderwood, who gave Thornhill his debut at Forest and is looking forward to working with the player again.

Dynamic

"Matt is a player I know very well from our time working together at Nottingham Forest," the Hibs boss told the club's official website. "He is a dynamic player with terrific goalscoring potential and I think he will give us extra options in the midfield area. "He has a proven record of scoring goals and he is an uncomplicated player, who gets the job done. "Matt is a player with a great work ethic and I believe that he will play a key role in the continued development of this football club."
