Toffees' rising star looking to reward club

Everton's Seamus Coleman has no plans to rest on his laurels after winning a new four-and-a-half year contract at Goodison Park. The Irishman only signed a new deal last May, but this week penned fresh terms following an outstanding campaign to date. Coleman had no qualms extending his stay with The Merseysiders and he remains focused on maintaining his progression. The 22-year-old has made 20 Premier League appearances for David Moyes' side this term along with contributing a handy three goals.

Over the moon

"I'm over the moon to sign the contract," he told the club's official website. "My aim was to keep impressing after every contract and this new one proves that I've been doing well. I just want to keep going now. "When I came over first it was a two-year contract and I treated it as a trial. "I got a new one whilst I was at Blackpool, and to get another one so quickly was a surprise because that's three in a short space of time."
