Brazilian defender on his way to England to talk terms

Sky Sports News understands Chelsea have agreed a fee with Benfica for defender David Luiz. The Blues have been chasing the Brazilian for much of the January transfer window but have been unable to match Benfica's valuation. It is, however, understood that the Portuguese giants have now relaxed their stance and are prepared to do business. Reports suggest that an initial £21million deal has been sanctioned, with Chelsea set to pay £17m of that fee up front. The Blues are also willing to part with Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic as part of the agreement. Luiz is believed to be on his way to England to talk personal terms with the Blues. Chelsea have been surprisingly quiet in the January transfer window, given how their season has gone, but look set to spend big on deadline day.
