Sky Sports News understands that Rangers midfielder Lee McCulloch is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
The injury caused the 32-year-old to miss Sunday's Old Firm Scottish Cup fifth-round clash at Ibrox which ended in a 2-2 draw.
He had also pulled out of the Scotland squad to face Northern Ireland in their the Carling Nations Cup game in Dublin on Wednesday.
The news is a big blow for Walter Smith's side as they seek to retain their SPL title, with the Ibrox giants sitting five points behind arch rivals Celtic, with two games in hand.
