Blues youngster eager to continue education elsewhere

Birmingham City's highly-rated youngster Robin Shroot insists he is ready for another loan spell away from St Andrews. The 22-year-old returned last month after spending the first half of the season at League Two outfit Cheltenham, scoring his first goal in senior football while at Whaddon Road. However, he has failed to make an impression on the first team with Blues since heading back and he told skysports.com that featuring for Cheltenham in an earlier round of the FA Cup cost him a Birmingham appearance. "I was told that I was going to be on the bench for the FA Cup against Coventry, but unfortunately I was cup-tied," explained Shroot.

Education

"I'm just trying to work as hard as I can and try to learn off the great players that around me here. If Alex McLeish wants me to go back out on loan again then so be it. "I think that he would like me to go out on loan again and he has been happy with what I have done since coming back from Cheltenham. "I've scored a couple of goals in the reserves, but nothing compares to first-team football, so I reckon he wants me to go back out this month. "There were a few clubs sniffing around before the January transfer window shut, but nothing concrete went on, so hopefully something will crop up before the loan window shuts."
